Have you found your soul mate?

Almost paradise [Boys Over Flowers OST]

"You can easily judge the character of a man
by how he treats those who can do nothing for him."

.........................

In a hadith in Al-Bukhari’s Book of Manners,
Abu Darda' reported that Prophet Muhammad said:

"Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one's good manners."

(Al-Bukhari)
........................

I am in fact replaying Boys Over Flowers just to watch this cute pairing (okay, cute for me not for you). My friends often labelled me as a person with weird definition of attractiveness; which I can't deny in some cases, and in this case, apart from loving the main lead in the drama, I fell in love with this pairing. And as strange as it may sound, this is my most favourite pairing in Kdrama world. I have yet to fall in love with other pairings no matter how I love the stories as much as I love this pairing. This has nothing to do with Kim Bum though. I just love these two characters in the drama, no matter how fictional they are. And I guess, I fell in love with the idea that every dark soul will find light through love. Oh well. So much for a hopeless romantic like me.

I still remember how we often sang one of the OST everytime we walked in a whole group into the cafe.

What will you ask for if you were given a wish that will surely be granted?

You know how much I love going for terawikh prayer? If you don't know, I reaaaaallyyyyy love going for terawikh prayer. Why? Because at my place, here in this small town (it's getting bigger though), after Isya' prayer, there will be a short tazkirah before we proceed with terawikh prayer.
And the things that I love the most about tazkirah are; the sharing of hadith and the stories of the Companions.
I love sirah. Or in other words, I love the stories of Prophet Muhammad and his Companions. I love listening and knowing about them, not because I love to listen to stories, but because they make me feel I am closed to the Prophet. The Companions are normal people like us, like me, but their stories. MashaAllah, they could do so much things, they could be patient to a lot of difficult trials that even I could not take it if I were them. They made me cry deep in my heart.

And tonight, the story is about a companion who was offered to ask anything that he wanted and the Prophet would pray for him. The companion then asked the Prophet to give him time to think. He thought for quite some time, and there was a battle in his heart. He was a poor man. Very poor. Therefore, a part of him wanted the wealth in the world until another part of him said to him; "If you asked for the wealth of this dunya, Allah will give you even though you do not ask for it. There will be something for you as everyone will have their own wealth (rezeki) in this dunya. But if you asked for something more everlasting in the hereafter, then won't it be better for you?"
In the end, he asked to be Prophet Muhammad's friend in the jannah. Nothing but that. Do you know who is he? He is Rabi'ah bin Kaab.

His response made me asked myself the same thing. What will I ask for if I were him? And by listening to the battle in my heart, I was left ashamed with my poor soul. Oh Allah, forgive me for my foolish needs of this dunya. Please make me be more grateful for all that You have given me and please make me one of those who seek for the pleasure of hereafter.

"Be mindful of Allah, so He may be mindful of you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will always find Him before you. Be mindful of Allah during prosperity, He will be mindful of you during austerity. If you are in need, ask Allah. If you seek help, seek His help, and be informed that there is a great deal of goodness in what you dislike, that victory comes with perseverance, that ease follows hardship and that with every hardship there is ease."

"The planet does not need more 'successful people'. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds. It needs people to live well in their places. It needs people with moral courage willing to join the struggle to make the world habitable and humane and these qualities have little to do with success as our culture is the set."
[Tenzin Gyatso, The 14th Dalai Lama]

...........................................

It was raining throughout the day. Instead of having an afternoon nap, I decided to do some blog walking and I came across a touching and eye-opener blog entry. The entry is about those prostitutes who are forced to be in that kind of business. The writer shares her conversation with her friend regarding that issue. I found the conversation interesting as they both commented on how these girls are actually morally good and have more humanistic values in comparison to those who are perceived as good or religious by the society. They noted how some respected and religious people often think themselves as noble and tend to judge others. Mudah menghukum daripada cuba memahami. But hey, it's not just only them. Believe it or not, we too do the same. We tend to judge people and think bad of them when they do something wrong. The writer and her friend both believe that rather than to simply judge, we must learn to think good about these people. Husnu dzon. Bersangka baik. Probably they have problems, and probably they are forced. Probably they want to stop being that but they don't know how. Probably they are waiting for help but it never came. Probably. We don't know. But you know what is wrong with most people nowadays? Stigma and mentality.

Hadis Abu Hurairah r.a: Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda:
"Sesungguhnya seorang wanita pelacur melihat seekor anjing sedang mengelilingi sebuah telaga pada hari yang sangat panas. Anjing itu berusaha menjelirkan lidahnya keran kehausan. Beliau kemudian menggunakan kasutnya yang dibuat dari kulit iaitui khuf untuk mengambil air telaga tersebut sehingga anjing tadi dapat minum. Oleh kerana perbuatannya itu, dosa wanita tersebut diampunkan."

Meal for the soul 4

Terjemahan hadith :
Dari Abu Hamzah, Anas bin Malik radiallahuanhu, pembantu
Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi wasallam dari Rasulullah
Shallallahu’alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: Tidak beriman
salah seorang diantara kamu hingga dia mencintai saudaranya
sebagaimana dia mencintai dirinya sendiri.

(Riwayat Bukhori dan Muslim)

Hak orang muslim

Rasulullah SAW bersabda,
"Apabila engkau bertemu dengan saudara muslim yang lain, maka ucapkanlah salam kepadanya; Apabila ia mengundangmu, maka penuhilah undangannya; Apabila ia meminta nasihat kepadamu, maka berikanlah nasihat kepadanya; Apabila ia bersin dan mengucapkan al hamdu lillah, maka ucapkanlah yarhamukallah; Apabila ia sakit maka ziarahlah; Apabila ia meninggal dunia, maka hantarkanlah sampai ke kuburnya."

The Almighty Allah says,

"When a servant thinks of Me, I am near. When he invokes Me, I am with him. If he reflects on Me in secret, I reply in secret, And if he acknowledges Me in an assembly, I acknowledge him in a far superior assembly."

- Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as narrated by Abu Huraira

Self-reboot!

Oh no, my whole system is breaking down. Yes, my whole system. From the brain cells to the nerve system until the joints and muscles. They are all almost in the stage of not functioning. Even my heart is becoming numb and the state of my spirit is pending. Oh God, please save me. I tried hard to sort out my system errors and I've been defragmenting the whole system just now. Maintenance takes quite a long time I'm afraid. Oh, what a weak self-system I have. I can't do nothing as the new me isn't sold anywhere else. I can just repair my system and find a better software to keep it functioning well. My brain cannot function well and my muscles just won't move. And it's all because of that incurable virus which most of us known as 'L.A.Z.Y'. Arghhh! I need to reboot myself! Please, let my system function before it's too late.

I'm getting sleepier minute by minute. Oh, don't hibernate yet. Please.
Oh my, I need to restart my system now.

Fair enough.

Treat others like you want others to treat you.
A common saying that almost all of us know about it, or at least heard of it.
Well, easy said than done right?
Most of us practise this saying in their life, hoping that others will also practise the same as well.
But, in reality, not all are practising the same principle.
They might not treat us like how we treat them.
We might be good towards them, but we can't guarantee that they will do the same towards us.
They are they, and we are we.
That makes all the difference.

I don't like others to break their promises with me,
but somehow, I had also broken a few promises before.
I hate it when others are being selfish and self-centred,
but when I think again, I had also been a selfish person myself.
I don't like others to be cold towards me without telling me why,
but when I reflect, I found that I had also given a cold shoulder to others before.
Things that I don't like others to do it to me, I myself had done it to others.
That's why people keep doing the things that we don't others to do to us.
It's because we ourselves do the same things to them.
Fair enough right?

So, this saying is actually not as easy as we think it is.
Yup, like I mentioned before, easy said than done.
But, hey, no matter how difficult it is, it is not impossible to do.
Let us begin to treat others nicely from now on.
If we don't want others to treat us like that, we must not treat them the same way.

Well, it doesn't matter whether they treat us well in return,
because the most important thing is,
we had treated them well.
Even if others don't see it, as long as deep in our heart we know that we had tried our best to treat them well, it is more than enough.
As long as in God's eyes, we had done our best.
He knows and He will reward us according to our deeds.
Isn't God's reward is the best reward ever?

(Be good towards others!)

"Sesungguhnya di bumi Allah ini terdapat bejana-bejana, iaitu hati-hati (hambaNya). Yang paling disayangiNya ialah yang paling lembut, paling jernih, paling teguh. Yang paling teguh berpegang kepada agama, yang paling jernih dalam keyakinannya dan paling lembut kepada sahabatnya." [Sabda Nabi S.A.W]

Try your best!

"Trying your best to do something is by itself a talent" ( Alphonse Elric, Full Metal Alchemist Manga Chapter 9)

Rasulullah pernah bersabda:
"Bahawasanya Allah Taala suka apabila seseorang dari kamu membuat sesuatu kerja, dia memperelokkan kerjanya."

So, do your best in everything you do!
Make an effort, do your best, pray hard and don't forget to put all your hope and trust to Allah Almighty.
InsyaAllah, God Willing, everything will turn out well! :)
