The Martian.

I will surviveeeeee

"Hey there, buddy."

Of all the scenes in 'The Martian', this struck me the most. For those who haven't watched 'The Martian' yet, I suggest you to go and watch it.

The sound of tennis ball and swords.

Sobasaku [Samurai X anime OST]

Fridays in Jeli are usually my lazy days.
That explains the amount of anime episodes
and live action movies I've watched throughout the day.

Two episodes of Prince of Tennis anime.
A live action of Prince of Tennis.
A live action of Rurouni Kenshin (2012 movie).

After watching all the above,
my head is full of Ryoma Echizen, Karupin, Fuji Shuusuke,
Himura Kenshin, Kaoru Kamiya and Japanese feudal era.

And now, I can't wait for the next live action movie to come out:
Attack on Titan (based on the manga Shingeki no Kyojin)!
Kyaaaaaaa~~

Bad. This is bad.

.......................

"Sword is merely a tool for killing.
It is the person that actually kills."
[Himura Kenshin, Rurouni Kenshin]

"Mada mada dane."
(No, not good enough)
[Ryoma Echizen, Prince of Tennis]

: Jeli, Kelantan.
: Both live actions are based from the animes I used to watch when I was a kid.
I still remember how I used to wait for the animes every weekend.
There were quite a number of times I was scolded
for spending my early mornings watching animes
rather than helping my mother with the housechores.
Oh Lord, please don't let my children have this trait of mine.

Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus.

Kimi Ni Todoke OST

Awww pity Kazehaya kun. That girl definitely misinterpreted his message. Why don't you rephrase your sentence, dear? If you guys say girls are difficult to understand, so do your subtle messages. Girls tend to think the other way around. So, please be clear in giving any messages. If you guys are serious, please tell them you are serious. There is no harm in doing that. Ahha.
For guys out there, please bear in mind, there are two types of girls. The first type; they are those who tend to overthink things. If you tell them some things, they will definitely try their best to decipher the message behind each word. So, if there is no underlying meaning behind what you said, these girls will be able to come out with anything they think those words might mean. These girls; they usually the cautious type. They tend to be more careful in replying to your messages and to respond to you. And most of the times, what you see is not actually what they really are. Complicated, huh? But most girls fall in this type. Ahhahaha. The second type; they just tend to take things as it is. In other words, they are the 'blurred' type. These girls; they are slow at understanding hints and subtle messages. Therefore, if you are trying to approach and getting to know them better, these girls, they need to be told directly that you are approaching them. If not, they will just put you in a depressing place called 'friendzone'. Wohoooo. This type is complicated too. Only brave guys will be able to get their message across with these girls.
For your information, a lot of my friends fall in both types. And that is why a lot of my beautiful friends out there are still waiting for the one (even though they look like they already had someone). So, guys, good luck! *wink

A sad yet inspiring movie is what we need sometimes.

You can keep me, inside the pocket of your ripped jeans

Title: Boku wa Nosei Mahi no Top Salesman (Door To Door).

This Japanese movie is based on a true story about about a man who was told for many years that he was not employable due to the fact he is suffering from cerebral palsy. However, he put all of his effort into working as a door-to-door salesman. Despite the pain attributed to his cerebral palsy, he walked eight to ten miles a day to meet his customers and achieved the highest sales for his company.

At first, I thought that this movie is just an ordinary movie where we get to see the main character with his disabilities will be able to gain what he wanted in the end. Cliche, for me. However, as I read one of the reviews which stated that this is the type of movie everyone should at least watch once, and found that Ninomiya Kazunari acted in this movie, curiosity got the better of me.

And when the main character, Kurosawa Hideo-san said,
"I am used...to that. When people meet me for the first time, they're always cautious like this. There's no one who would be kind to me from the very start."
my heart went out for him. I even prepared my heart for more heart-breaking and depressing moments ahead. And I was right. This movie is freaking sad and yet an eye-opener for us especially in understanding and dealing those who suffer from cerebral palsy. And to see Kurosawa Hideo-san struggling to achieve at least one sale made my heart clenched. Oh God, how sad it was to watch him throughout the movie. Why on earth am I tormenting myself watching this type of movie? Whyyyyy? Doushiteeeeee?

Hey, if one day you feel like giving up, please watch this movie. You will feel that, no matter how bad your day is or how terrible things are, there are others who might suffer even more than you. Lets be grateful and treat those who are less than us with respect.

And what I mean by 'less' here does not only mean less in terms of physical or mental abilities, but also less in terms of status, family background and even academic achievement. Let us learn to treat others how we want others to treat us. Cheers.

Untuk semua pertanyaan yang belum sempat terjawab.

Ada Apa Dengan Cinta [Melly Goeslow]

Adalah cinta yang mengubah jalannya waktu,
Kerana cinta, waktu terbahagi dua,
Dengan, dan rindu untuk membalik masa.

..................

I woke up today to a sudden urge of watching an Indonesian movie; Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (AADC). For those who still remember, this movie was a hit when it came out around year 2002. I had this vague memories that I once watched this movie with a bunch of my friends at that time. We watched it together at one of my friends' house on a hot evening. I still remember that we ate keropok and drank cold orange juice while watching. However, no matter how I cracked my brain, I seemed to forget who I was with. The memories were kind of jumbled up and this made me feel saddened with the realisation that; the memories in my heart are starting to fade away as each day passes by. Is this what people called; being forgetful? Or does this happen to most of you?
That is why I tend to write things down in this blog. So that, one day, when a piece of memories suddenly flashes through my thoughts, I will be able to track it down and reminisce it as it really was.
While watching both AADC movie and a LINE commercial of AADC 2014 (you can check it out on the youtube or click on the above picture), I couldn't help but feel a sinking sadness tugging at my own heart. How time flies and how people change. Change is not a bad thing, but the sadness of watching someone or something you know has changed is unevitable.

And here I am, feeling a tad bit sad and melancholic while listening to the poems recited by both Rangga and Cinta in AADC.

My book crush 1: Peeta Mellark.

Across the Universe [Fiona Apple]

“You're still trying to protect me. Real or not real," he whispers.
"Real," I answer. "Because that's what you and I do, protect each other.”
― Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay

..................

“That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.”
So after, when he whispers, "You love me. Real or not real?" I tell him "Real.”

― Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay

.........................

I have been reading The Hunger Games trilogy these past few days. Actually, I have read errrrrr like a third of the first book; Hunger Games loooonggg time ago but since work and other things had me preoccupied, I forgot to continue reading the book.
After I suddenly remembered about Peeta Mellark last Thursday (oh well, I don't know why my brain suddenly thought about Peeta Mellark), I decided to spend my free time (yeah, free la sangat kan), reading the book. Oh my, after I finished reading both Hunger Games and Catching Fire, I think I have a crush on Peeta Mellark more than any other fictional characters that I have read so far. This is bad. This is bad.

So what is your verse?

Born to die [Lana Del Rey]

[Mr Keating, Dead Poets Society]

.....................

This week, even though there was no Sunday blues (read: Awal Muharram holiday), I personally felt that entering classes was a bit more daunting than I expected it to be. Oh well, I think I sort of forgot the saying; 'expect the unexpected', especially when it is related to teaching.
It might be the unexpected temperature of the day too as it was getting way hotter even as early as 11.00 a.m. And it might be the stress and pressure for the upcoming SPM examination. Or it might also be the longing for holidays that I constantly have every single day in my teaching life. Or it might be all of those.
Oh, what an exhausting and mentally drained week. One more day to go.

.....................

Self Talk for Decreasing Anger:

  1. As long as I keep my cool, I am in control of myself.
  2. My anger is a signal. It is time to talk to myself and relax.
  3. Nothing says I have to be competent and strong all the time. It's okay to feel unsure or confused.
  4. If people criticise me, I can survive that. Nothing says I have to be perfect.
  5. It's impossible to control other people and situations. The only thing I can control is myself and how I express my feelings.
  6. It's okay to be uncertain and insecure sometimes. I don't need to be in control of everything and everybody.
  7. If the person wants to go off the wall, that's their thing. I don't need to respond to their anger or feel threatened.
  8. It's nice to have people's love and approval, but even without it, I can still accept and like myself.
  9. People are going to act the way they want to, not the way I want them to.
  10. I feel angry, that must mean 'I have been hurt, scared or have some other threatening feelings underneath the anger.'

I've always wanted to go to Neverland.

Let me take you there

Finding Neverland [2004]

....................

One of my favourite childhood stories is Peter Pan. I love to read the book (you know the thin book for kids) and I used to dream of being a kid forever. I even talked about J.M Barrie's Peter Pan for my five-minutes talk when I was in Form 3. I still remember how I looked forward to its movie. Ironically, until now, I haven't seen the movie. You know, the year 2003 movie of Peter Pan? Yeah, that one. Does anybody have it?
Oh, I still remember the movie's tagline:

"Imagine a world like nothing you've ever seen."

Someone, take me to Neverland please. I don't want to grow up and stuck in adults' world; too many dilemma, conflicts and prejudice. Urghhh, it is too tiring to be honest with. Why are adults like this? Why so serious? Can't they be more relaxed, tolerant and giving? Where does the child in them go? No child is born racist. Oh, what is happening to humanity nowadays?

Cakap macam kecik lagi tuh, padahal dah suku abad sudah.

This is for when you have dark days.

May It Be

"I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."
"So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought."

[Frodo Baggins and Gandalf, The Lord of the Rings- The Fellowship of The Ring]

.....................

"I can't do this, Sam."
"I know. It's all wrong. By rights, we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going, because they were holding on to something."
"What are we holding to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

[Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, The Lord of the Rings- The Two Towers]

......................

"How do you pick up the threads of an old life?
How do you go on when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back?
There are some things that time cannot mend, some hurts that go too deep that have taken hold."

[Frodo Baggins, The Lord of the Rings- The Return of The King]

Lucky in game, unlucky in love.

I watched this movie a few days ago.
The Hunger Games.

.............................

Lucky in game, unlucky in love.
Are we?

If yes, why?
Something must be wrong.

Is it me,
or the whole situation?

What if nothing is wrong?
But why does it feel wrong?

"Let me tell you that it is possible."

[Team, Lorde]

Me too, Jude Law. Me too.
Ahhahhahaha *start dah start dah*

..............................

Today I finally watched an old movie. Like before, I had a tough day and I decided to watch a movie. And a 1997 movie; 'Gattaca' caught my eyes.
If I am not mistaken, one of my childhood friends used to pester me to watch this movie when I was like errr...thirteen years old? Oh gosh, it took me twelve years to finally watch the movie that she recommended. I think by now, she must have forgotten that she asked me to watch it. I'm sorry dear. This is me. I know you know how long it will take for me to watch a movie that anyone recommended. So yeah, finally I have watched it yeaaahhhhhh.
I definitely made a right decision. Why? There are Ethan Hawke and Jude Law in the movie. Oh, eye candies. Why didn't I watch this movie sooner? Whyyyyy? Tula, orang dah lama suruh tengok takmau tengok. After watching these eye candies, there goes my tiredness and stress ahahhahahaha.
But hey, you should try and watch the movie if you haven't. There are quite a number of issues that will make you think. While watching, terms like "prejudice", "nature vs nurture", "glass ceiling" and even "science vs fate" kept ringing in my head. It was nice to have a good thinking process while watching. Oh well, at least for me. Please do watch it when you are free. Even if you take ten years to finally watch it, by that time, if I am still alive, do let me know what you think about it. Let's have a deep discussion of this movie. Hehe.

Caught what Ethan, caught what? My heart?
Ahhahha *okay over dah over dah*

....................................

I miss having deep discussions about random things with my friends. My brain is getting a bit rusty after some time. Help me please.

Tuesday, 31 December 2013

I have to do this one more thing before year 2014.

Just a smile and the rain is gone

For a person who does not like to watch any horror movie with unknown entity (in other words: ghost), I watched a horror movie yesterday. Believe it! Oh I can't believe I did watch 'The Conjuring' with my siblings at midnight. And today, before midnight, we are planning to watch another horror movie; Insidious Chapter 2.
Oh well, the movie was something. I don't mind watching thriller type of movie with psychos madness and killings and blood and everything, but I do mind watching ghost type of movie. I am not scared, but more of dislike to that type of story. You know, when people encounter ghosts, they kind of scared of ghosts more than God...so that's why I don't like about it. However, ironically, I do like the movie 'Insidious' which I watched with my siblings around...err, last year?
Alas, for 'The Conjuring', I gave it a try since it is based on true story (as they proclaimed). Not bad. And not that scary, thanks to my younger sister who spoiled the story while watching ahhahaha. So, tonight, we are going to watch the sequel for my errr...should I say favourite horror movie; Insidious? I hope the sequel will not be as bad as every sequel in the history of films should be. Oh well, whatever it is, I will watch it with my siblings yeaaahhhhhh.
I guess I have overcome my fear dislike for watching horror movie yesterday, and I hope today too! Have a great night too everyone! :)

Postman to Heaven.

Heaven's Postman.

A simple yet a very touching story about love and death.

You know,
there are people in this world who can't get over the death of their beloved ones.
They blame themselves on what had happened and live in regret.
Such pain and regret that are felt deep in their hearts can never be erased,
if they themselves do not move on.

Move on?
Easy said than done.

But hey,
rather than weeping and grieving over it,
why don't we, the ones who are still alive,
continue our own journey in this life,
 until we meet them,
 one day.

[ You know what, watching this makes me feel like writing a letter
to my relatives and friends who had passed away.
Dearies, I miss you guys.
Moga kalian ditempatkan di kalangan orang-orang yang beriman.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
Till we meet again. ]
